Ginger
From traditional knowledge
to ongoing scientific study
Ginger has a long history in food and traditional digestive care, particularly for discomfort and bloating.
Research explores several aspects of ginger, including stomach movement. A small human study found faster gastric emptying after ginger, but did not find an improvement in digestive symptoms in that study.
For us, ginger’s appeal goes beyond what science is exploring. It is also in its aroma, warming spice and the different layers of flavour that fermentation brings.

Probiotics
A probiotic culture
Probiotics are live microorganisms that can provide health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. Their properties and supporting evidence differ from strain to strain.
Some strains of Bacillus coagulans have been studied for digestive health, including bloating and gas. One trial studied strain MTCC 5856 specifically; its findings cannot automatically be applied to other strains or products.

The studies cited here concern ginger or specific probiotic strains, not clinical trials of Vēgain Ginger Probiotic Shot. They do not establish the effects of combining the ingredients in this drink.

Soft at first.
Then comes the warmth.
Fermentation adds depth to ginger’s aroma and flavour. Gently sweet and tangy, it is easy to sip and soft on the first taste.
Then the warming spice of ginger gradually follows, leaving its familiar warmth in your throat.

Which flavour should I try if I prefer less ginger heat?
Original puts ginger first. For a fruit-led flavour, try Lemon Vanilla, Blackcurrant Vanilla or Passion Fruit Raspberry. All four still contain ginger.
How is fermented ginger different from ginger juice?
Vēgain Ginger is fermented for 60 days, developing flavour alongside ginger’s natural warmth. See the label for the ingredients of your chosen flavour.
Does it contain sugar?
Organic sugar feeds the cultures during fermentation. No extra sugar is added after fermentation, but some sugar may remain in the drink. Check each flavour’s nutrition label for the amount.
Does it need refrigeration?
Refrigerate at 0–4°C and check the expiry date on the bottle. An unopened bottle can be kept out of the fridge for up to 48 hours at no more than 30°C. Avoid direct sunlight and never leave it in a hot car.
